Home is Southern California...I am so happy to know Redding has a HBBQ. Food was great, large portions as always.
Location: only con is that there is a brewery next door and many smokers outside when I visited so, it limited us to inside seating. No fault on the business but it limits seating.
We will come here again. -

Man, I really like the food here. Buuuuuuut I'll never be back!
A police officer was getting lunch and he asked about a discount, ok cool I get it. I'm a veteran and I rarely ask, but hey sometimes you throw it out there and it feels good to get one. The employee taking his order, who was clearly training a new employee, responded in a super rude, and nasty tone of voice.
"No we don't do police officer discounts, because that would be unethical and you should know that."
Pump the breaks! A no would have been fine, you don't need to be a jerk. The officer was gracious about it and waited for his food outside, I stood there for a second torn and walked out. I hope management doesn't encourage this kind of behavior, and I hope the young lady figures out the boundaries of professionalism and personal opinion. There is rarely a reason to be so rude and disrespectful, we are all people man. -

Stopped here for a bite to eat. We took a chance on this place, since there wasn't much to choose from for close by dining. The place is tiny, but adequate for a good meal. The food is very tasty, fresh and the restaurant offers generous servings. I was a bit disappointed when I got such fatty pieces of pork when I ordered the mixed grill. It was wasteful because I won't eat those items. I suggest that the cook or server use more discretion in serving their food in the future.

Summary: 4 stars: Decent Hawaiian BBQ! Hearty portions and hearty familiar flavors at a great value!
Cleanliness / Ambiance: 4 - place was clean and spacious albeit a little disorganized, but this is a mom and pop shop, so you'd expect it to be. Tables were clean and wiped down and none of the condiment bottles looked gross or were sticky. Soda machine area was well kept!
Flavor / Taste / Quality: 3 - we ordered Hawaiian BBQ chicken, steak, and the chicken bowl as well as a side of Spam Musubi. Hearty flavors of Hawaiian-style marinade. Everything from the meats to the macaroni salad was on par with other chain Hawaiian BBQ restaurants! The spam musubi was the only thing that I didn't finish...something was off, we shared them, but threw 1/4 of them away. Can't put my finger on why we were put off by it, but it didn't taste right.
Value: 4 - we ordered minis (~$5.99) because (like most Hawaiian BBQ joints) they give you a whole hell of a lot of food. The minis didn't disappoint! Good servings.
Service: 5 - this was honestly the best part of the visit: the cooks and the cashier both were friendly and "service-with-a-smile" was completely literal as the workers asked how our day was and what are plans were for NYE. Also they were attentive to restroom issues and remedied it quickly. -

Great food other than an active drug shooter behind the counter.
